Dear PCLT Family and Friends,

Oh, what a beautiful morning!  I hope you are out and about enjoying this wonderful Hill Country fall weather.  My friends, this fall we have a lot to celebrate!  In just a few weeks, we will observe All Saints’ Day, the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, and the 10th Anniversary of PCLT’s Charter.  Over a period of just eight days, we will joyfully remember and reflect on all that God has done, is doing, and will do in the life of the Church and our church.

This is a special time in our community. Through these celebrations, we express our gratitude for all who through the ages have faithfully served God – who have shared the gospel; who have used their prophetic voices; and who have witnessed to God’s justice and peace for every nation.  And by remembering that God was with the faithful of the past, we are reassured that God is with us today, moving us and all creation towards God’s Kingdom here on earth.

These days remind us that we are part of one, continuing, living communion of saints.  Through these celebrations, our past, present, and future come together into one moment – kairos time – God’s holy, sacred instant.  We are the church reformed and always being reformed according to the Word of God.

We are doing a few things to mark this very special time:

1. On Sunday, October 15th and Sunday, October 22nd, Priscilla Mojica Rust will be teaching Sunday school classes on Reformations Today and Dias de los Muertos.  Both of these engaging classes will focus on the life of the reforming church and the lives of the faithful.

2.  On Sunday, October 29th in worship, we will commemorate the lives of the saints who have gone before us AND all those who we remember as part of the faithful life of PCLT and beyond.  Please submit names of saints past and present who have nurtured the life of faith at PCLT or elsewhere. You may email names to the church office at admin@pclt.faith or revlaura@pclt.faith.

3.  All of these celebrations will culminate on Sunday, November 5th, as the family and friends of PCLT, past and present, come together to honor the 10th Anniversary of our Charter with a special worship service at 11:00 a.m. followed by a fellowship lunch!!  Please R.S.V.P. to Debi at admin@pclt.faith.

It’s amazing what God can do with ordinary people and ordinary things to make an extraordinary difference in the world around us.  Thanks be to God!

In Christ’s embrace,
Pastor Laura
