Friends,

Two years ago, as we worked on a Strategic Plan for growth and outreach, we recognized that one of PCLT’s biggest assets is our church building and beautiful property surrounding it. At that time, we made a commitment to look for other community organizations that might need some building space to partner with us to maximize these God-given resources of building and grounds.

Well, we found them!

A year ago, a community group wanting to teach the Tamil language to children began meeting on Saturday afternoons in our facility. The West Austin Tamil Academy is returning this week to start its second year as one of our community partner organizations! Twenty-five students, along with parents and teachers, will gather on Saturday afternoons during the school year, to learn this Southeast Asian language spoken by more than 65 million people.

This summer, we hosted three week-long day camps for kids – an Art Camp run by Hils Art, and two Drama Camps run by Drama Kids International. More than 40 children enjoyed those experiences. Those community organizations are already planning for their camps at PCLT next summer!

Beginning this week, we have partnered with Acton Academy Bee Cave. They have a campus down the road from us, but they needed space for expansion. So they are bringing 25 students and their adult guides to our facility this school year, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

At a congregational gathering last November, we heard many people say, “Our dream is to have our church building full of children and their families.” This school year, our church building will host 50 children as they learn and grow, along with their parents and families.

This is Good News. This is an answer to our prayers.

Peace,

Pastor Jack
