Friends,

Many of you know already about ‘Postle Jack. He is a character I created almost 25 years ago; he wanders the hills and hollows of Appalachia, sharing wisdom and bringing people together. I have told many of his stories with you back in 2019 and 2020, but it has been a while – there was that whole pandemic thing! So the Christian Education Team decided to plan four events this coming year, each event focused around one of the tales of ‘Postle Jack and his adventures.

On Sunday, April 30, we will have our first such event. At 9:30 a.m. we will gather in the Fellowship Hall for a time of learning, discussion, and perhaps some arts and crafts, and maybe some snacks too. We will focus this time on the beautiful Labyrinth on our campus and we will learn a bit more about Labyrinths and walking them as a spiritual practice. You will even be invited to walk the Labyrinth, if the weather cooperates. Then, during worship, I will tell the story titled, ‘Postle Jack Wears a Path. After worship, we will gather for more fellowship and food.

These events and worship services are designed to be intergenerational and interactive. Feel free to invite neighbors, grandchildren, and others. Dress casually; it will make ‘Postle Jack smile!

Looking ahead – other ‘Postle Jack Tale events are scheduled for June 4, October 1, and December 24.

Peace,

Pastor Jack (not ‘Postle Jack!)
