Friends,
As a follow-up to our gathering in November, facilitated by our strategic inquiry consultant Emily Bhandari, we have been offering a series of conversations each Sunday morning. First, we talked about special events coming up this Holiday season and ways to reach out and let our community know they are invited! Last week, we talked about communication, both within our congregation and beyond. This week, we will begin a two-week conversation about stewardship and finances.
Larry Foster, Treasurer, will be present this Sunday, December 4, at 10:30 a.m. to share information and hand out 2023 Pledge Cards and letters. He will be able to bring you up-to-date on where we stand financially this year and where we hope to be financially in 2023. You will be able to pick up a Pledge Card and take it with you. Then, once you have had a chance to read Larry’s letter and reflect for a bit, come back on December 11, at 10:30 a.m.. Larry will again be present to answer your follow-up questions and to receive your Pledge Cards, if you have them already prepared.
We know that the Story of PCLT is more than the financial resources we steward for mission and ministry in the Lake Travis community. Our story is part of God’s Story – the story of hope on the move, the story of peace breaking out, the story of reconciliation of those who have been divided, the story of healing for those who are hurting, the story of life abundant for all of God’s Beloved Children. This Advent Season, as we rehearse the Story of the miraculous Christmas Gift born in Bethlehem, let’s also reflect on how we are called to share that Story with others through our financial resources, our outreach to the community, our mission efforts to those in need, and our ministries of hope to all who enter this sanctuary.
Peace,
Pastor Jack
