Friends,
Last week, I used this space to give you an update about what our Mission Team has been doing. This week, I want to update you about our Outreach Team.
We hosted Pizza Palooza at Baylor Scott & White Hospital and Clinics on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Just before 11:00 a.m., twelve members of PCLT gathered outside the front doors with sodas, water, information folders, and a Craigo’s Pizza Truck. Our goal was to thank the hospital and clinic staff for their hard work and dedication to the people of our community. Over 500 slices of pizza were consumed by BS&W employees! By all accounts, they felt thanked (see note in this newsletter!). If lunch wasn’t enough, seven of us returned in the evening and delivered 15 whole pizzas to the nurses’ station on each floor of the hospital to thank the night shift workers!
The next event sponsored by the Outreach Team is Trunk or Treat, coming right up on Sunday, October 30, 4-6 p.m. We hope to have 10-12 cars parked in our parking lot, with trunks open, decorated for Halloween, and full of treats. We are inviting kids and their parents from far and wide to come and enjoy a safe, fun, trick-or-treating experience on our campus. If you want to participate, there’s still time. Just contact Lynn Fisher. If you want to just come and watch, that’s fine too. Wear your Halloweeniest outfit and come be a part of the afternoon festivities.
The Social Media and Website Team is hard at work with our webhosting service, redesigning our website. We already have a newly-designed logo and an almost-finalized homepage. Look for the launch of our brand-new website around the end of the year!
Everyone is invited to participate in the events sponsored by the Outreach Team – don’t wait to be asked to get involved; volunteer!
Peace,
Pastor Jack
