PCLT Family and Friends,

Re-gathering for worship on Sunday mornings brings many moments of joy as we celebrate being together again with family and friends. There is an energy and enthusiasm that echoes the stories we read of the early church in the Acts of the Apostles, as they gathered to pray and worship and fellowship in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Re-gathering also brings moments of sadness and grief, as we realize who is not gathering again with us – those who moved away, those whose health has them home-bound or in a new assisted living situation, and those who died during the 14 months we were apart from one another. It is only natural that our gatherings would be tinged with sorrow as we remember those we miss.

Later this month we will have the opportunity to celebrate the lives of two dear members of our church family who passed away during these long months of separation. On Saturday, July 17, at 2:30 p.m., we will gather in the sanctuary to celebrate the life of Allan Hitchcock. We will surround Pat and her family with our love and prayers, and we will give thanks to God for the ways in which Allan enriched our lives with his wisdom and thoughtfulness. Then on Saturday, July 24, at 2:00 p.m., we will gather again in the sanctuary to celebrate the life of Barbara Morrison. We will surround her family with our love and prayers, and we will give thanks to God for the ways in which Barbara blessed our lives with her whimsy and kindness.

Please make plans to attend these important occasions in the life of our church family.

Peace,

Pastor Jack
