Jan 27, 2021

Friends,

We will have a chance to gather this Sunday, January 31, at 12:30 p.m. for our Annual Congregational Meeting. We will conduct some business, hear some reports, and review the proposed church budget for 2021.

This annual gathering is an important event in the life of our congregation every year, but it is especially important this year. We will look back on a year shaped by a global pandemic. We will celebrate the ways in which we are still able, through all the hardships, to continue to BE the church. And we will look ahead to the year in front of us and wonder together how we are being called to BE the church in 2021, in what we hope will be the final months of pandemic isolation and moving back into gathering in person. What will our congregation look like in the post-pandemic world? What new priorities are emerging for us? What new opportunities await us? What new challenges will we have to face? In what ways have we been forever changed? What is God calling us to do and to be next?

In addition to the reports and the business items before us at the Annual Meeting, we will also spend some time in fellowship with one another. Perhaps we will laugh, perhaps we will cry. I hope we will eat chili together!

Speaking of chili – we will have our First Annual PCLT Chili Cook-off as part of our Annual Meeting! If you can come by the church building on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, you can pick up your chili samples and take them home. If you would like your chili samples delivered, contact the church office by email or phone, and someone will deliver the chili to your door. Then, heat the chili, and be ready to vote for your favorite during our Annual Meeting! The maker of the winning chili will receive a prize!

I hope you will take the opportunity this Sunday to be with your friends and church family! I look forward to being with all of you.

Peace,

Pastor Jack
