Friends,
This past Sunday we welcomed two new friends into formal relationship with our fellowship – Jim and JoAnn Currie. They have been worshipping with us for a while, since they relocated to Bee Cave in the fall of 2018. The Rev. Dr. Jim Currie retired last summer, after a long ministry career, finishing his pastoral duties at First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena, Texas. JoAnn served that same church for many years as the Director of Spiritual Formation. They are now enjoying traveling and spending time with children and grandchildren. Please make a point of welcoming them the next time you see them!
So many members of our faith family are traveling this summer – to see family and friends, to enjoy some time away, and to find some relief from the Texas heat! Those of us who are sticking it out close to home continue to gather for study, worship, and mission in our community week after week. Please make an effort to come join us as your schedule allows – we miss you and long to share the peace of Christ with you!
Summer is also a time when many people undergo elective surgeries or suffer summer colds (an oxymoron if I’ve ever heard one!). If you find yourself in the hospital, or recovering at home, or just under the weather and staying quiet, please contact me here at the church office, so I can pray for you or visit you or offer pastoral concern over the phone. We all can benefit from the care and support of our church family and friends!
Peace,
Pastor Jack
