Friends,

This coming Sunday we step into the season of Ordinary Time in the church year. This is a season for reflecting on the ways in which we engage in discipleship and growth in our ordinary lives in the ordinary rhythms of our days.

In the Christian Education hour, I will share ‘Postle Jack Tales throughout the summer (with the exception of July 7th – stay tuned for that special day’s conversation). This Sunday, June 23, we will begin with the story of “How ‘Postle Jack Got His Call.” Then on Sunday, June 30, we will hear the story of ‘Postle Jack and the Bean Pickers. Come hear these stories and reflect with me about what they might teach us about ordinary discipleship.

During worship we will be focusing on stories from the Hebrew scriptures, stories about Elijah and Elisha. Perhaps these stories are familiar to you, or perhaps it has been a long time since you have heard the stories of these ancient prophets of God. Either way, come join us for worship and reflect with me about what the stories of these two extraordinary people might teach us about ordinary discipleship.

Peace,

Pastor Jack
