A Note from the Pastor:

Dearest Saints,

I hope this note finds you well on this beautiful day!  It was so good to be together in worship last Sunday.  For those who were away, both near and far, we missed you.  We are always better together.  It is truly one of the things I love about this congregation.  While we are diverse in thoughts and ideas, and yes, even in politics, I truly believe that those differences make use stronger. And through our faith, we are able to stand together on the common ground of God’s love shown to us through Jesus Christ.

Trusting in God’s love and faithfulness, last Sunday – Stewardship Sunday – we dedicated our time and talents, and wealth and prayers to God for the mission and ministry of PCLT.  For most of last year, the Mission and Outreach Task Force has been discerning how we can best be in relationship with those in need in our community – the poor, the weak, the sick, the stranger, the homeless, those on the margins of community.  Some of the opportunities/mission partners we are looking into are:

Literacy Partners – reading to children at Bee Cave Elementary

Bee Cave Elementary Mentoring Program

English as a Second Language Classes (Partner with Manos de Cristo)

Angel Tree

Life Works – a program for Young Adults coming out of the fostering system

Lake Travis Crisis Ministry

Community First – a community serving the Austin homeless population

Mobile, Loaves and Fishes

Mobile Meals

Silverado Worship Ministry

Just to name a few…. As I mentioned, you will hear more about when and how to get involved very soon.

We are all called to be good stewards of God’s mission in the world. If you were not with us on Sunday, you can mail in your Time and Talent Sheets and Estimate of Giving Cards or bring them with you this Sunday. I look forward to this new chapter in our church life together.

Let us boldly join together to fiercely and radically love others as we are loved in Christ.

In Christ’s love and mercy,

Laura
