Dearest Saints,
I hope you are having a wonderful week.   For some, it is a week of transition as they go back to school.  This time of year can be filled with a mix of emotions – excitement, anticipation, joy, and sometimes a little anxiety.  And so please know whether you are a student or teacher or the parent or grandparent of a student or teacher, you and your loved ones will be in my thoughts and prayers this week and throughout the year….
God of all mercy and love, I pray for all the students – for their joy, curiosity, and playfulness – may they continue to develop and use the gifts you gave them. Grant them courage as they engage in critical learning and discovery.  And I pray for all those called to teach and lead this year.  Grant them your wisdom and generous spirit and love.  Give them the energy to bring forth the best in their students.  Loving God, we offer you our very lives in the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
